The Heritage Theatre is a truly wonderful building that deserves historic preservation if anything, and not the threat of demolition. Theatres such as these should not be blamed for the mismanagement of incompetent businessmen. I guarantee that with some hard-working people with good ideas and some intelligence, a new role for the theatre can be found making it the profit-making entity that the city obviously wants to replace it with. Nothing you build in the future (unless you build something else of cultural relevance) will replace the hole you will leave by tearing it down. Pragmatically speaking, it simply makes much more sense to try to find a new purpose or role for the existing structure rather than having to tear it down and build something new. That's just common sense. I hope you will do the right thing."
